The Communist Parties of Vietnam and China opened their sixth theoretical seminar in the central coastal City of Danang on September 8 to share experiences from the development of culture under the current market economy and international integration.
Addressing the seminar, Hoang Binh Quan, Head of the Vietnamese Communist Party’s Central Committee Commission for External Relations, expressed the significance of the event, which coincided with activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties.
Liu Yunshan, Director of the Chinese Communist Party’s International Liaison Department, also highlighted the fact that the world is going through profound changes and culture is gaining an increasing influence in interactions. Both countries should learn from each other to develop socialist culture, he said.
To Huy Rua, head of the CPV’s Commission for Communication and Education, delivered a paper analysing the theoretical and practical meanings of cultural construction and pointed out five major issues for discussion, namely the role of culture in the revolutionary process, culture in the market economy mechanism, culture during international integration, building moral and lifestyle culture, and building culture in the Party itself.
